Building a strong community
We believe that a highly visible, welcoming Bitcoin community is one of the most enticing drivers of adoption. We would like to showcase how big, vibrant, and approachable this community is. We believe this will be more persuasive than logical, technical explanations for newbies in many ways. If people see the health and optimism embeedded in the commmunity, they’ll be more inclined to look seriously at the protocol.
Increasing adoption of Bitcoin
We want to accelerate and promote Bitcoin adoption by individuals as well as local small businesses and nonprofits.
Accelerating the parallel economy
We want to do our part to help people opt out of the fiat economy as much as possible, support Bitcoin-friendly businesses, and become self-sovereign.

We are committed to advancing our mission while also enjoying each other's company. We continuously seek out venues where the owner or waitstaff will accept payments in Satoshis. Join the Bitcoin Only Sactown Meetup group to get notified for announcements that typically follow this schedule:
2nd Thursday of the month: social gathering
4th Thursdays: Classroom / presentation
Vibrant Telegram group
We have an active Telegram group with channels such as Meetings, Presentations, Advanced / Technical Topics, Silly Memes... it's how we stay in touch and keep our positive momentum going in between our meetups.
We do a good job of keeping out the scammers, spammers, and sh!tcoiners. After you meet us in person at one of our events, assuming it goes well, we will invite you into that group.
